Send your first survey

The four steps from an empty survey to answers coming in, and where to find each one.

A survey in Outcomify is a short set of questions you send to your own customers by email, or share as a link. Closed answers are counted as soon as each person hands theirs in, and Canopy reads the open ones into the customer needs behind them, so what you learn lands in your evidence next to your interviews and your feedback board.

Start a survey

  1. In the left rail, open Evidence → Surveys.
  2. Press New survey.
  3. Pick a template, or Start from scratch.

Each template is short on purpose, because fewer questions get more answers. You can change everything in it.

Template For
Discovery pulse What customers are trying to get done, and what gets in the way.
Why did you stop? Customers who cancelled or went quiet.
First week New customers after their first week.
Follow up on a request People who asked for something.
Jobs and tools Who your customers are and what they use. Short and closed.

A draft saves as you type, so you can leave halfway and come back. It shows under Surveys with Continue.

The four steps

  1. Questions. Write what you want to ask. See Write the questions.
  2. People. Paste your customer list, or share an open link. See Choose who to ask.
  3. Message. The email people get, the reminder and the close date. See Write the invitation.
  4. Review. A last look at who, what, when and from whom, then send. See Send it.

A step with something left to fix is marked in the row of steps. The Review step lists everything that still stands in the way, each with a Fix in… button that takes you to it.

After you send

The survey page becomes its results. Invitations go out within a few minutes, and the page counts them as they go. Read what came back in Read the results.

Still stuck? Email info@outcomify.com and a person will answer.
